So glad you asked! We’re a meal delivery service that delivers fresh homemade meals prepared by our team of curated home chefs. The meals are fully cooked, so all you need to do is reheat them and enjoy them. No more worrying about what’s for dinner or lunch! Life is busy but that doesn’t mean you have to compromise on delicious, flavorful, soulful food by standing in the line of closest fast food. You don’t have to shop, chop, or clean, nutritious, scrumptious food without artificial ingredients, chemical preservatives, or highly processed sugars cooked by rated Chefs is now at your fingertips.

 

Tangy Chef is brainchild of group of foodies who truly believe eating fresh, nutritious, and delicious food should be easy for all. We do the hard work for you – finding Chefs who are highly rated so that sitting in Florida, you can order food from a Chef who is taking New York by storm by her out of this World dishes.

Our meals are cooked in the kitchens of top-rated Home Chefs all over US. We onboard our Home Chefs based upon feedback and recommendations we receive from an in-house panel of Chefs and food connoisseurs. Once on-boarded and if you chose their dishes, these Home Chefs prepare your meals in their kitchens. We also have a team of in-house Chefs who prepare some of the ‘one-of kind’ dishes on demand for example ‘Karela Fry (Indian Bitter Gourd Fry’).

Our team of Chefs at Tangy Chef pride themselves in preparing their meals with fresh, local ingredients and serve authentic homemade meals! All meals will arrive cold in an insulated bag with cold packs. Besides this, each dish will have a label to indicate a “best by” date (typically 2-3 days from the date of arrival). Feel free to heat your meal for lunch / dinner or put them in the refrigerator to enjoy later—it’s completely up to you! If you’d like your meals to last longer, we suggest freezing them to enjoy when you’re ready! Just heat, eat…and repeat!

 

Getting started is easy!

 

 

1. Enter the zip code where you would like to get food delivered on our homepage at www.tangychef.com

 

2. Use the search bar to browse the meals by dishes or scroll through cuisines, Chefs, and dishes.

 

3. Select the Chef you would like to get delivery from and the delivery date. If you’re planning to get your order by a specific delivery day, please order by the cut-off date. Cut-offs are two days prior at midnight (e.g., for a Sunday delivery, you would need to order by 11:59 p.m. on Friday). As the delivery can be done any time during the day, we would suggest you to keep a buffer of a day if you are getting a delivery for a specific event (e.g., for an event on Sunday, get the delivery on Saturday. Once you get the delivery, put it in the refrigerator and then simply heat it on Sunday)

 

4. Start adding dishes to your cart to build your order.

 

5. For any given day of the week, you can place an order from multiple Chefs. You chose your dishes from the Chefs you like; we will pick the dishes and deliver them to you as a single order so that you are not paying multiple deliveries.

 

6. Click “View Cart” to add your delivery information, and select your delivery window, add promo codes, payment details, and tip amount. Once you enter your address, you will receive a final confirmation on whether we deliver to your exact address.

 

7. Click “Place Order”.
Please Note: If you encounter an error at checkout indicating that your address is not within our service range, that usually means that your address falls outside the delivery area that our third-party delivery service providers can service. While we may service your zip code, there are range limits as to how far our delivery service providers can deliver. Please note that we are continuously working on expanding our delivery areas and that we look forward to serving you in the future.

Portion sizes vary depending upon what you have ordered, but the average dish is typically 12 -16 ounces (usually enough for one serving). Some dishes such as ‘Chutneys’ might be offered in 8 ounces. The portion sizes are stated in every dish description on the website.

Our team is committed to ensure that your experience on our desktop and mobile site is as seamless as possible.

Yes and no! You can customize your orders to a certain extent, like you can choose the spice level of your dishes. Please keep in mind that not all Chefs have the bandwidth or leeway without materially impacting their dish to accept customizations on an individual basis, and as such, order customizations and personal requests cannot always be guaranteed. It is up to the Chef’s discretion to evaluate their bandwidth as well as feasibility to accommodate your customization requests.

Although our Chefs try their best to list all the ingredients, they use in each of their meals, they are unable to guarantee an allergy-free cooking environment. Therefore, if you have a severe food allergy, we would recommend not ordering on the platform at this time.

Signing up for homecooked meals delivery is super easy, but here are few things to make your experience even better:

1. You can place a one-time order or you can create a weekly subscription – in short you decide the frequency. In case you decide to get weekly subscription, you’ll get weekly deliveries of your chosen meals unless you skip or cancel.

2. You’re in total control. You can make decisions about your deliveries up to 3 weeks in advance!

3. It’s easy to skip delivery for week or two based on your need. Let’s say you have weekend plans or maybe you are going out of town on a vacation, just login and hit skip to skip deliveries for that week(s). Since you can order in advance up to 3 weeks, you can skip your deliveries for up to 3 weeks as well.

4. When you go for a weekly subscription, we send weekly notifications with deadline reminders for each order. This gives you the opportunity to change your order in case you want to try some new dishes from some other chef. There’s a lot of planning that goes into shipping fresh meals so we need do need 2-3 days before your order ships.

5. Your first order is the starting point for future deliveries, whether it is a one-time delivery or weekly subscription. You have the option to update your selection every week. For weekly subscription, if you don’t update your selection of dishes by the cutoff time, last week’s selection is used as your new default menu.

We don’t offer trials since you can order dishes that you like on a one-time basis, but we do offer promotions from time to time which you can notifications if you subscribe to our communication. Once you sign up for a weekly subscription, you’ll receive a confirmation email that outlines your first delivery as well as your deadline for making changes to your orders each week.

 

You can also change things up 3 weeks in advance – change the number of meals, change the address for a week, choose a different delivery day, and even update your selections.

Yes, all the meals in your order will be delivered together even though they might be prepared by different Home Chefs, on your chosen day of delivery. Please refrigerate the meals upon arrival, though you can also freeze a few to extend the shelf life. We recommend enjoying them fresh, but check out our freezing instructions here.

Our meals are prepared by Home Chefs and delivered fresh to you, so typically they have a refrigerated shelf life of about 5-7 days. Select items (such as seafood, Dosa) are best eaten first, so we’ll add a note on the package to let you know. We usually suggest enjoying these meals within the first few days of receiving your order, but you can always check their exact use-by date on the label. If you’re ever unable to finish your meals within their typical shelf life, you can always store them into the freezer for extended storage. Just be sure to microwave your meal straight from the freezer and add a few extra minutes to reach the 165° F internal temperature we recommend or if you are heating them in a pan, make sure that you let it boil for few minutes before you eat it.

We accept all major credit cards, as well as Apple Pay.

When you place and order, we put an authorization hold on your credit card. The order is charged on the day of order delivery. If your order is canceled before the order cut-off date, the pending charge will drop off in about 3-5 business days depending on your bank.

We schedule your delivery to arrive in the delivery window that was selected by you at the checkout. On the morning of your delivery day, you’ll receive an email with the details of your delivery. When your order is on the way or about to be delivered to you, you’ll receive a text (to the number you provided at checkout). The text may include a tracking link and an ETA on when you would receive your meal delivery.

 

Please keep in mind that delivery status texts may vary in different cities.

If you didn’t specify ‘contact less’ deliver, the driver will call or text you in case you’re not at home when they arrive. If they can’t reach you, and they determine that the address is in a safe location, they will leave it outside your door. Please leave any special instructions in the “Delivery Instructions” box at checkout.

 

Meals typically stay cold in our packaging for up to a couple of hours, but that is not guaranteed, so please plan accordingly! If the ice packs in your delivery bag have thawed and the food is no longer cold, you should not eat it.

If you would like to request a no-contact order delivery, you can do so by updating the “Delivery Instructions” section at checkout. Be sure to state “No-contact delivery requested” and provide the necessary instructions which include the exact drop-off location.
